Kair was born in Radiant Garden, a small floral world known for its flowers all around it's small town. Her parents owned a small floral shop and often helped them, but in the midst of working hard to keep money coming, they both passed away quietly. Kairi was too young to remember them, but kept her knowledge of flowers or at least her instincts remembered.
As a child she spent most of her time with her grandmother, but she does fondly remember her grandmother's stories about the "Children of Light." something she kept with her for years to come. Even now she still remembers the stories, but doesn't think of them often due to remembering she hasn't seen her grandmother in years due to the darkness attacking her home.
When she was whisked away to Destiny Island her memories became even more crumbled apart, but she made new ones with Sora and Riku. The sunny days she basked in replaced the broken parts within her mind, eventually leading up to her making the choice to travel to other worlds with her friends.
Unfortunately her physical body didn't make it to the worlds, but her heart was able to travel around with Sora within his heart. She learned much from their journey together, but when her physical being came back she had to save him just as he helped her. The two eventually came together again, but at the end of it all she was once again the only one back on the islands, Riku was lost to the darkness and Sora was trying to find him.
Kairi was lost without her friends and while her father tried to cheer her up, she still found herself crying at night. When she'd return to the island her heart hoped her friends were home, but alas no one was there except the ocean waves and hot sun. At some point she tried to make her own raft, but broke down and cried her eyes out. She missed her friends and the simple days that came with it, but now she was alone. She stopped returning to the island and didn't want to return without her friends, the two boys from the island.
On the outside she forced a smile, she didn't want her father to worry, but soon the pain subsided and she forgot about this so called boy from the islands. She remembered Riku, but a blank space was there in her mind. She scratched at it continuously, but couldn't put her finger on it. She could feel the memory there but whenever she tried to access her heart ached, and her head throbbed. She decided to figure out why and began with little letters to herself, she wouldn't forget what was happening to her.
"Dear two boys from the islands,
I wanted to say this to you in person but…."
The letters trail off from there but Kairi wrote every day, not only to herself but the boys as well. It was hard to put together her feelings and some days she couldn't write at all. But in the end it helped her get through rough days and nights, a year later she started school and while her memories were still jumbled her writing became clearer. One day she wrote a final letter to the boy she couldn't remember, promising him that she'd see him someday and return to the island with him. It was then she remembered her promise to Sora, and what it meant to her. The next day she sent the letter off and her journey to find her friend started.
Despite being kidnapped and used for evil deeds Kairi never gave up on her friends and in the end found them. She thought, finally together they'd go home, but Xemnas and the others stopped them time and time again. Eventually Kairi got her own keyblade, fed up with being left behind she vowed to go with them on their new journeys together. "Wherever one of us goes, we all go." She said to them in a stern voice, it wasn't going to be just the two of them, they'd go home together no matter what happened. But soon darkness came again, and Kairi decided to step up, thanks to Merlin and his training she moved forward and fought her hardest in the final fight.
"This time we'll all go home together. The three of us."
She wanted to make this happen, all her training came down to this day and with the link of a Paopu Fruit, they'd be linked forever. But as the battle ended events transpired and Kairi was lost, unsure of where she was, she waited for Sora and in the end he saved her. Once more the darkness came and this time, Kairi wasn't left behind she fought her hardest next to Sora. She'd bring him home this time, no matter what happened he always kept her safe and she would do the same. In the end she fought her hardest and while she got to spend time with him before he faded, she still cried as he said, he had to go again. She didn't want him to leave, she missed her friend and just wanted him home again. Her heart sank and now she aims to find Sora this time, keep him safe and return home again.
