Characters are not required to be in a faction or own a Keyblade upon joining the Union Academy, however by the end of their Final Term and Apprenticeship the Academy Requires that they do at least join A Union.
Keyblades are harder to come by, and the Guardians of Light recognize this, as such are happy for any who are Courageous enough to leave their homes and Kind enough to help them protect the Light. After all Donald and Goofy were not keyblade wielders, they helped protect the worlds

The first term might also be known as Class C, Fishies, Freshmen, The Beginners, the n00bs, or the newbs. They have just recently been accepted into the Academy and are now currently taking 4 Classes to help them make a decision about which Faction they desire to train under.

All classes will focus on improving the Skill-sets required for those factions, working as a team, and finally Earning enough Quest Credits to move to final stage.

Should the student still not unlock their keyblade, at least they had 1-on-1 Keyblade Way training, and will know what to do on their "Lone" Missions.

And they still can Join the Faction of Choice 100%. -------- During this Term This Character can Go on any Quest they desire, as a "test" of their strength. Nothing Happens, it's Neutral it doesn't pick sides or try to sway you in any direction. Just be glad your characters might make it out alive and sane. Characters in neutral alignment are truly... Those of Harmony working to Keep Light and Dark Tamed and in Equal terms balanced Out.
The Horrible Darkness that gives us all those Dark Horrid Sins, the very Core Reason why people betray friends are prone to murdering or just.. Seek New and Creative ways to Consume the Light of this world into themselves. This Alignment was the Root Cause for all Worlds to Become as they are today, Be very Wary playing with this Element it Isn't Natural.
Should a Location change to Pure Dark Alignment it'll grow to be darker, colder, sharper, and just plain eerie creeping most characters.

Character has grown the courage to stand up and fight against their Biggest Fears, and is but 1 step into a brighter future. This allows them to grow Immune to Fear, Emotion, Mind manipulation themed Abilities/Weapons/Items/Spells/Powers. 1 Star lvl up each time they fight their Greatest Fear.
🖤Chill Power Boost - Short Term
All Ice, Darkness, and Shadow Element Abilities get an Ice Status Effect Bonus, where Characters attacked by these moves are More prone to grow colder faster. Unless Immune to Cold-chill lvl 3-5 stars. Characters who are attacked with the status effect will find sharps of ice forming along their body's edges and hair.
🖤Light Sensor ✩ - Ability Slot
Sometimes a character is so Dark, so Cold, and just so lonely they'll find themselves Sensing the Light.. Try to reach out for that light, prone to Hope to reach further from the shadows and escape. These characters are capable of reading a Character's Light Stat, and feel the Brightness coming off each Character. As well, should this ability reach Lvl 3 be capable of Finding Different Characters within the Light Realm by sensing their "Warmth". Unfortunately, these characters are prone to be sidetracked by monologuing or wishing not to be Alone.
The character will have Memories restored, but there be none that's happy. They'll recall all those dark sinister moments that chipped at their heart in the first place. It'll be sharp detailed, and probably a strong powerful reminder of why they are doing what they are doing.

Emotions were such painful things, so little light.. Characters will find themselves no longer caring about such things. They could probably FIND those emotions, but do they really want to?
🖤 Cold - Short Thread only
The world has grown colder, it has feels like it is taking the very Soul Warmth lying within your core. It is harder to continue on, not to shut downfall to hypothermia. Just be careful chap lips are terrible fate.
🖤A Nightmare to Life - Short/Long up to Member
The Darkness Wishing to Feast on the character's light will attempt to break that character's Confidence by creating Shadow versions of their Greatest Fear sending it to attack said character. Whether by Words, actual attacks, and or changing terrain to "look" a certain way.
🖤 Despair - Short/Long up to Member
Your character will feel their Hope drain, and may even fall into Helplessness if they think too hard on it. Point is they fall into a deep Despair and may actually lose themselves to this Deep Dark Despair, their friends are capable of slapping them out of it... However Attacks will grow weaker, Psychological attacks more effective against character.
🖤 Nightmare-Insanity Immunity Decline ✩ - Long Term Nega-Ability Slot
Whether the Character HAD immunity... Against these sorts of things or had a Steel heart... It doesn't matter, what Does matter... Is now this gift of "immunity" against those Dark forces is slowly being eaten away. This character will gradually begin having more and more Nightmares, they'll find things entering their dreams, and finally, they'll find their ability to avoid Mind control-Mindreading-Emotion Control is on a Gradual Decline.. This ability Lvls up every time they are in a Dark Alignment thread.
🖤PAIN INCREASE - Short term
Characters who are fighting in Darkness will fine they're more likely to be hurt within that Domain, things will HURT MORE. Should they get cut, Healing magic may not work on this character.
🖤Corruption✩ - Short Term could be Long.
This character's magic has been Corrupted for a Singular thread, All Alignments of their abilities have taken a Dark Alignment effect. If they end up using these Abilities too much, they'll find themselves thinking Darker thoughts and feeling perhaps darker emotions.
🖤Lying Curse - Short term Thread only
The Character Can't stop lying, every time they try to say the truth it just comes out as a lie. Ex: I love you Versus the lie I hate you.
🖤Paused Time - Short in Thread
Everything happening in this Board is actually outside the Timeline, meaning... Even if your character has gone missing for Years, Captured stored here, the world outside may never had known. Scary right? Plus side if you're a child you'd always be a child. Think of Peter Pan.
Light the thing many have sought after, something once shared among all residents of All words and dreams. Broken up into little fragments in all hearts of those living within its Realm it is but harder to come by in such a strong Powerful Entity. The Kingdom Hearts is said to be its Creator, The X-Blade its Protector. Many still to this day desire ALL of its warmth and Love, clueless they've been given it through friendships and the choices they made each every day.
The light however while warm, comforting, loving, and all empowering isn't perfect. After all it had helped to create Darkness that sought to capture it. This Roleplay has given your character the Capability to transform various Locations into a Light beacon, changing the Location into Pure form of Light. Influencing other characters and future threads. HERE ARE ALL THE EFFECTS they can Inherit for Reaching Too Far to into the Light.

Characters in a thread during a Light Board Alignment will find their Physical scars, cuts, and/or broken Limbs heal over. Battles can probably last a lot longer from parties healing from attacks. Members choose WHAT can get healed.
🤍 Purification - Board/Plot Device Long Term
Should a character be sick, diseased, poisoned, and/or on Edge of Darkness.. They can be Healed from this process longer they are in the board. It might even ease Psychological insecurities probing constantly. If the Board had water that was poisoned, haha not anymore. Warning: If your character Stays too long they'd become a Pure Light Heart.
🤍 Warmth - Thread Only Short Term
No matter how cold the board location is, no matter how Cold your friends are to you.. You'll feel the warmth of a hug swelling deep inside of you, holding you tightly. It can make even the most Angered person break down into tears at this powerful Love and Comfort. WARNING: Steel hearts could turn to Fragile hearts if in Too many Light Aligned Threads.
🤍 True Sleep - Short Thread only
If a character sleeps in this Light Alignment board, they'll find themselves highly rested and More ready to face things against them.
🤍 Memory Recollection ✭ - Long/Short up to Mem
Your Happiest memories will come back to you, just simple happy moments of your life character might have forgotten about. Like that Evil Mentor who betrayed you, suddenly you'd see him healing you kindly.
🤍 Time Speed - Long/short
Time is speeding up around you, Events and things are going past. Your character if a child will find themselves growing by years per thread they stand in this Board Alignment. If a character is not careful they could grow too old too fast. Other things that could happen is a character will begin to Move at Hyper speeds, realizing how much slower Neutral Time truly is. Sometimes Things are happening so fast in the board they in, the world around could be evolving faster than the places around. Example: A skyscraper might be built Mid battle or A meteor shower will come out of the blue to hit them. When they step out of the aligned area, things will return to normal.. But the board might look different due to its Fast Travel.
🤍Future Visions ✭ - Long/Short up to Mem
The Blessing of Light is the Blessing of Hope and Dreams if you wanna call it that.. Your character will begin receiving Visions from Staff of Future Positive effects of Events and/or Character actions. That or Vague poems.. That or Vague dreams. Either way Character is going to See happy Hopeful visions of their Choices and People around them.
🤍Truth Seeker ✭ - Slot Ability
The Character is capable of telling when a character is Lying or Telling the truth, they can actually at lvl 3+ tell what the character really mean to say. They can choose to turn this off.
🤍Wordly Knowledge ✭ - Slot Ability
Information about Other Worlds just flows into that character when they step into that world. This information isn't about Characters directly, but rather the Political Basics, Magic Basics, and just overall what's common knowledge of that world. If they're chaotic Heart they'll know the Fandom-Canon media IRL Origins. At lvl 3+, they'll learn about those canon story backgrounds.
🤍Increase Light Immunity - Slot Ability
Character has been exposed to such a powerful Light, they find other character's Light Magic pitiful and hardly even harsh against their skin. Each Star Lvl allows immunity to that Star Lvl ability.
🤍 Memory Loss ✭ - Plot Device Longer-Term Ability Slot
Your character is more prone to forget what has happened in that specific thread they were in During Light Alignment. Should your character be on a quest, if they stay too long they'll slowly daze out forget who they are and are lost till a friend saves-revives these memories. Think of Star Vs Evil's Realm of Magic.
🤍 Sloth Comfort - Thread Only Short Term
Your character doesn't feel like fighting anymore, just wants to give up the pointless fighting. After all the world is warm, comforting makes you just wanna relax talk about it. Attacks are more prone to be slower, less powerful, just a strong desire to never leave.
🤍 Sleepless Dreams ✭ - Could be Long and Short
It could be hallucinations or actual Dreams, either way, your character will either see things that make them happier not really there.. Or they will lay down falling into a deep peaceful slumber, probably the best sleep they'd ever received. The question is. Do they wish for them to stop?
🤍 Empty Vessel - Plot Device Long Term
The Body's turned into its Natural empty state, perhaps the Heart left? Perhaps its there just shut off? Either way they succumbed to the Light grew Blind to the world of Darkness and its good effects on people.
🤍 Loss of Emotions - Short/Long up to Mem
The character has felt so much Happiness, Lost so many Memories.. They are losing the reason for those memories' reason for this happiness. They just.. just.. lose that darkness gives Love and Hope meaning. The world slowly grows Factual, Numbers, and just. However, you as a Member interpret this, Devoid of pain.
🤍Truly Honest - Short Term
The character can't stop speaking their thoughts, it just comes out in fluid words, this Including incapability to lie. Truly.. Disastrous for those who keep Hidden Dark desires or Emotions harmful to others.
🤍 A Heroe's Sacrifice ✭ - Long/Short up to you
Character feels a Sudden urge to Self-Sacrifice to save one they care about deeply, or really anyone if they have it REALLY REALLY BAD. After All the Greatest of Light Is Self Sacrifice.
🤍Mute - Short Term
Character will lose the Ability to Speak outloud, forced to communicate through expressions or writing things down. Scary thought really.
The LIGHT TOO POWERFUL, ITS OVERWHELMING BLINDING!!! So the character is losing its Natural Defenses against the light element, everytime their exposed to it. Better watch out they might actually turn Too Good for us.
🤍Pain Decrease - Short Term
The Character won't feel pain anymore, while they can be HURT... They just won't FEEL it.. So like let's say their covered in Leeches, suddenly they won't feel it. Other characters will have to point it out to them. You'd be surprised how important pain is to make people think of others.. or like.. React.
Once there was a powerful vast Light that reached far and wide Warming all hearts, then where there is Light.. Will Always be Darkness, Darkness had but shattered the Light broken its Large Warming mesmerizing gaze to Neutral Homelands that We Now Called "Home" However some feel the World just isn't Bright enough, just isn't Dark enough. As Such This is a simple little thing we added to add life to our Roleplay Game and I guess competition play too?
Transformation Side-effects: Characters Activating any 5 Star ability will transform that Board into their Ability Alignment: Be it Dark, Light, or Neutral. This, however, does not come without consequences as Any and All future threads made in these boards (till Neutralizing) will have both Positive and Negative effects to the Characters in those threads. It will be up to the Members WHICH effects will affect their character, they are to choose 1 Positive and Negative per page character appears in. If your character is the one who Last one to use their 5 Star ability Changing the Alignment, they'll be Immune for that Thread Specifically.
COMPETITION SIDE: At the End of Every 2 Months, All board Alignments will be Counted and the Winner whether be Light or Dark Alignment will get to decide 1 Board that will stay Permanently for 1 Month their Alignment. We, Will, ask Members based on WHOSE power was last activated in each of those Boards counted to Nominate the Board, then everyone will Vote. Note: Neutral will not count, since the game wouldn't be fair as MOST boards will probably always be Neutral.
Other Notes: IT IS VERY VERY POSSIBLE to Destroy Boards as well, so If something drastic happens to Said board, Alert staff to stalk this thread specifically. You know like Burning down the Union Academy's Cafe.
Note on Effects: When joining or Making a thread within an Aligned Board, if it's Light or Dark pick a Positive and Negative for that alignment, so you can act out the First page effects that page. This is majorly important if the Effects are Short Termed, while Long term/Ability Slot can be after the thread. If effects are ignored, it'll kinda beat the point of the effects and staff will pull something later to make you regret 'cheating'.

Long Term - Can be after Thread
This choice can have a longer overtime lasting effects on a character, usually, it's plot-related or encouraging for you to Develop that character. The Staff Might ask just How it'd influence the character or How you want the effect to be handled. ESPECIALLY if its offered alongside of Short Term. NOTE: Long TERMS CAN BECOME An ABILITY.
Short Term - Has to be immediately somewhere in that page of thread.
This choice is short to That Thread only, it won't have a lasting long term effect. I guess just enjoy the slight Stat change? If you Choose the Short Term, Let the Members know Either when thread reaches a Second page or During the First page. NOTIFY THAT EFFECT IS HAPPENING EACH NEW Page-New Effect added.
Ability Slot - Can be after Thread
This usually can Only be Offered 1 Time and given Freely, however depending on the ability you might be able to upgrade that Ability 1 Star each and every time your character is in a thread with That Alignment and You PICK that Effect to upgrade Per Thread. There Will be a ✭ Next to Abilities that Lvl up Each new thread. NOTE: Long TERMS CAN BECOME ABILITY SLOTS. ONLY once Per Thread. OTHER THING if that ability reaches a Lvl 3, it has to take That Alignment effect Example: Originated from Light it has to turn into Light.
Nega-Ability Slot
Offered 1 Time and Given well.. Freely against your will, the biggest problem though is YOU HAVE TO UPGRADE EVERY time your character is in a thread with that Alignment, yes you can count ti as your negative effect. ONLY ONCE PER THREAD

So say, you have a character from a fantasy setting using a sword and shield fighting a gunner. Logically the bullets would easily puncture through the fantasy character’s shield.
However; to make things, fun, or cool, the bullets wouldn’t necessarily destroy the shield. This is to instigate just fun, and interesting writing so characters from any time period can have a fighting chance to tell a story properly. So as opposed to people shouting at each other “WELL THIS IS WHAT MY POWER SAYS!” Just try to cool it out, to make for interesting threads.
Sure, evil masterminds would logically follow the easiest route to destroy their enemies, but in interesting writing, films, anime, etc. Evil Masterminds typically toy with their prey, and more often than not, spare them. Don’t be afraid to lose, as this does not mean death for your characters, but a potential means for growth. This applies for both heroes, villains, and all in between.
Combat: Due to the site, and the sort of characters we’ll get here, combat does exist in Basic Paragraph & Freeform format. However; if you go stomping around, trying to pick fights with everyone that you see, you’re bound to get a warning, or people will simply not want to RP with you. Just because your character is strong, doesn’t mean you need to go waving it around and break the pacing of the site. Added to this, is that you cannot kill, or main other characters without their permission. If this is to occur, please PM a staff member with the incident, a warning will happen, and deletion of the particular post will occur. Characters cannot fight, take part in events, or go on quests until they complete a "Private Inventory Form" with their weapons, spells, abilities, and/or items.
Liquid-Time: Hearts Aligned uses a system of liquid time, meaning that threads can take place without having to be linear to each other. Also, you may have as many threads as you wish, just, don't clog up the board, and be respectful to your partners, and yourself. If you feel like you’ve bitten off more than you can chew, try to step back a little bit, and ask yourself, “Is the stress of having these many threads worth it to my own mental health? Is it kind to my partners to delay them for several weeks because I’m so buried?” Keep in mind that rping is a collaborative effort, and another real person is behind the keyboard and face of characters in your threads.
Fandoms allowed:
Video Games: Hearts Aligned is based upon a video game, and as such, video games are allowed. This can vary from dark souls to animal crossing. However, characters from Rated M games must be toned down to fit the setting. No blood, gore, and excessive swearing! We are still a kingdom hearts site, and additionally must abide by Proboards T.O.S. Additionally characters from A.O content (Adult Only, such as hentai, and settings that reach beyond R) are not allowed. In cases such as a character that swears heavily change his or her swearing to be the more comic friendly $%!# or something similar. While some minor swears are fine, once in a while, do not post them excessively.
Anime/manga: No NC-17 characters are allowed. Similar to the video game rules. Aside from that go wild, but keep in mind we are pg-13, so some characters just wont work, or will have to be heavily edited. Additionally in character’s histories, please refrain from direct mentions of triggering subject matters such as rape, drug use, assault. While it can occur to your character in their history, do not spend a long time explaining, or detailing it. Please place these triggers in the Private Inventory, so that it will not be out in the open triggering Guests and Members alike.
Other fandoms: Barbie, Cartoon Network, Dreamworks, Discovery Family, Illumination, Nickelodeon, Pixar, etc are allowed as well! However; this can be a case by case basis (such as Dreamwork’s Prince of Egypt not being allowed, Please check Banned List).
AUS: Or Alternate Universe, AUs are basically allowed from any allowed fandom universe.

Adult Cartoons
(IE; South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Rick And Morty etc.) Comedy Central, Adult Swim, and other Adult Cartoon Focus providers.
Live Action Movies or Tv Shows
(IE; Even Stevens, Hannah Montana, Lizzie Mcguire, The Famous Jett Jackson, The Mighty Ducks (movie), etc.) {Even if you have a drawn Image of it }
Be Respectful: The golden rule of all sites, doesn’t mean you have to be friends with everyone, but try to get along. RPing is an activity to get away from the stress of the world, and just to write. Hearts Aligned aims to be an inclusive community, things such as racism, homophobia, albeism, and other derogatory sentiments are not tolerated. Be nice to other members, and if problems do arise, please notify the staff team.
Three-Strikes: Hearts Aligned operates on a three strike you’re out rule. If someone is caught breaking the rules more than three times, they’ll be banned. First strike is simply a warning, second is a ban from the site for a day, and the third strike is a permanent ban. However; in cases of blatant homophobia, transphobia, racism, albeism, or posting pornographic content will be an immediate ban.
PG-13: Please be mindful of the site rating due to Proboard’s ToS. Don’t use art that’s explicit in nature, and keep threads limited to kissing and cuddling, no in depth description of doing the deed. Mentions are fine, but otherwise, keep it offsite, and fade to black. (PMs included). Also when it comes to violence, it’s fine, (we are in KH afterall) but blood and gore is not allowed.
If unsure if a particular character image (such as an avatar) feel free to PM the staff team for assistance on getting the avatar to work!. On the topic of avatars and character artwork, a little blood is fine, but no excessive amounts. Additionally, in terms of a revealing nature your avatar can not be sexually explicit in nature/revealing.
The Big Three: No power-playing, metagaming, or godmodding. In essence, this means don’t control another person’s character without permission (always feel free to DM your partner for permission!), your character can’t dodge every hit, and land every attack. Also, just because you may know something does not mean your character does. No breaking the fourth wall (Unless you play a fourth wall breaking character)
Accounts: One account per character, and an OOC account is entirely optional. You may have as many characters as you wish (Up to 20), however; you must be active with all characters before making another.
Word Count: Hearts Aligned wishes that players players have a fun time posting, as such we do not require an official word count, a bare minimum at least respond with a full paragraph (four lines). On the other hand, do not make posts incredibly beefy that nothing happens either. Brevity is an art, and giving enough to respond to is the most important factor.
Activity: With activity, Hearts Aligned is an incredibly relaxed site. Life happens, we have school, work, and other responsibilities that come before this wonderful hobby of rping! However; please do not bite off more than you can chew in terms of characters and posts.
Character Art: Hearts Aligned allows basically any art form for a character, such as anime characters, cartoon, or cgi depictions for video game characters.. However; this doesn’t allow pornographic imagery. If using commissioned art, please give credit to the artist, and obtaining permission to use the art for your character is important. Art-theft is not tolerated.
Fantasy from Reality: Just because two characters hate each other in I.C, does not mean that you as the rper is the target of the spite. Just because your character is disliked by another character, is not a slight against you as an rper. Tensions arise IC, and honestly that allows for a better writing atmosphere. So while we want to see the good in every character, and try to be friends with everyone, keep in mind that characters can naturally hate each other due to their personalities, ideologies, etc conflicting. As well keep in mind Do not bring IC to OOC such as Relationships, Disagreements, and etc.
The rules below are here to describe in high detail how the staff desire to keep peace on this Kingdom Hearts site. Main focus is a desire to roleplay, host events, and just watch the characters interact. All of below is to simply discourage trolling, judgemental, and just those who don't wish to respect ALL characters-members on the forum.
In the Future, some rules will probably be lessened, while others might grow tighter depending on what kind of Members and Guests this site attracts. We will aim to keep our Minds Open and keep the Roleplay Experience overall enjoyable enough to bring Roleplayers out of Depression or "meh" moods.
