With the Star System your character will start with either 4 items, 4 spells, 4 weapons, or a combination of them at star level 0.
They then have the capability to be leveled further. Strengthened via purchasing more slots and stars from the site shop with munny. Or by participating in site events and quests.
Upon creating your character you're given 4 free level zero slots to customize to your heart's content.
At the end of your combat post, please list what abilities or items you have used. As well as the cooldowns of the ones you've used that phase.

Below is the general power of each Star Level to explain the differences in power, as well as their limits and capabilities.

Star Level 0 is the lowest amount of power for all characters on Hearts Aligned. It is also the level that all characters' abilities, items, and weapons begin at. Which are then able to be further enhanced via various means. At this level, the damage one is able to utilize is minuscule at it's best, in both offense and defense as well as support.
When it comes to offensive magic or skills - abilities at this level do no damage to stronger enemies. Thus, 0 Stars deal damage to anything below Star Level 3.
Whilst defensive abilities shield up to of your health from anything at Star Levels 0-2. Anything Level 3 and Above however, will crush your shield with ease - tearing through your defenses effortlessly as well taking a full of your health. Likewise, support techniques at this level will only heal up to a of the target's health in combat.
Furthermore, abilities should be simple and uncomplex. Items should have up to one ability (example; a Potion that heals a half a heart of damage to the target). And weapons should be in their most basic form, such as; the Kingdom Key.
Abilities and items at this level can be used up to 6 times per post with no cool down.TLDR;
0-2 Star Levels deal 0 damage to 3-5 Star Level enemies.
Defensive abilities defend a of your health for any Level between 0-2. Yet are completely useless against Level 3-5. After a defensive ability is used, it requires a two post cool down.
Support spells heal for a of your health regardless of the Star Rank you're healing and have a 1 post cool down.

A 1 Star can do the same amount of damage to one of equal rank. But now can also damage up to of a 0 Level Star! However, they still only deal off of anything Level 3-5 Star Levels. A defensive ability can take up to 2 hits in battle before breaking the guard, while anything Level 3-5 will take out the shield instantly. Support spells can heal up to of health but require a 1 post cool down.TLDR;
0-2, 0 Damage to 3-5.
Defensive spells can survive 2 Hits unless level 3-5 in which they instantly shatter. Has a 2 post cool down.
Support abilities heal for but have a 1 post cool down.

A Level 2 Star character is able to take away of health off of a character of equal rank and Below. And for a Level 3. Anything above it will deal 0 damage. Shields hit by a 0-1 Star can resist up to 5 hits before breaking. However can only survive 1 hit from a Level 3 or Higher.
Defensive abilities and spells can withstand 4 hits from an equal and below Star Level. While they can now withstand 1 blow from a Level 3! Still anything above Level 3 will shatter it instantly. Support spells now heal a total of of health. It requires a 2 post cool down as a side effect.
TLDR;
Deals to 0-2 Stars, Level 3, 0 Damage to 4-5 Star Levels.
Resists 5 hits from 0-2 Stars, but can only defend against 1 hit from a Level 3. 4-5 still instantly shatter defense.
Support heals up to of health.

At this stage your character is capable of doing damage to Star Levels 0-2. While dealing damage to Star Levels of Equal Rank or Higher.
Defensive abilities and spells are able to resist up to 10 hits from a Star Level between 0-2, while surviving 8 Hits from an enemy of equal Level. However, only able to survive 5 hits from Star levels 4-5 before the shield shatters. Support abilities and spells are able to heal up to of health to a single target - while now having the added bonus of healing up to of nearby party members with a 3 post cool down as a consequence.
You also unlock a special power-up connected to your character's alignment for your ability. There's three choices, Light, Dark, and Neutral which give a unique bonus to your character's chosen skill. An example would be, for instance, a Bulbasaur's Vine Whip. When imbued with the "Light" alignment it could possibly be changed into "Healing Vine Whip" which when harming a target would heal the user.
Or - a Vine Whip with a "Dark" alignment may become "Poison Whip" Which when harming a target hinders them with a weak poison that dwindles health for a few posts. Neutral alignment may not have an elemental bonus, but may instead give out an extra amount of flat damage. The choice... in the end is up to you!
Regardless, this ability can only be used once every 2 posts, be cautious!
TLDR;Adds an Alignment to an ability as a Bonus Effect! [Light, Dark, Neutral]. Deals damage to a 0-2 Star Level. While doing to an enemy of Equal or Higher Level. Can now only be used once per 2 posts.
Defensive Abilities withstand 10 hits from a 0-2 Star Level, 8 Hits from an equal Level 3 Star, and resists up to 5 hits from a Star level of 4-5.
Support abilities heal up to a full of a single target, while also healing up to of nearby allies, but requires a 3 post cool down as a result.

Your one step away from the pinnacle of power! At this Star Level you're able to now do damage to enemies in the 0-2 Star Level range. While dealing to enemies between the 3-5 Star Level range.
Defensive abilities are now able to defend up to 15 hits from foes in the 0-2 Star Level area before shattering. Meanwhile, they can now survive
10 direct attacks from enemies within the 3-5 Star Level range, evenly.
Support abilities now heal a full of a single target, but now has the added bonus of healing nearby allies for of health, though now requires a 4 post cool down.
TLDR;
Deals to Star Levels between 0-2.
Now does damage to Star Levels within the ranges of 3-5.
Level 3 Stars are able to survive 15 hits from Star levels between the ranks of 0-2.
Level 3 Stars are also able to survive 10 blows from Star Levels within the 3-5 range.
Support abilities now heal of one target, while healing nearby allies for .

Congrats! You're now at a level of power that a select few obtain! The pinnacle of strength, as well as the absolute limit of your ability! You can now completely knock out any enemy within the 0-2 Star Level range! Very few can withstand your might, save for those at Star Level 3-5, in which you are now able to deal of their heart container.
Not only that, your defensive capabilities are top-notch - now able to withstand up to 25 hits from Stars within 0-3 range. While blocking up to 10 blows from Star Level 3-5.
Also, when using an ability (that you unlocked at Star Level 3) you are now capable of changing the alignment of a whole board of a single world.
Especially if Your 5 Star spell is the Last 5 Star spell released in that board at the end of the month. Winning Points for that Alignment. This ability can only be used ONCE Per Thread.TLTR;
Instant defeat of lvl 0-2, Deals lvl 3-5.
You can only use this Level 5 Star ability ONCE per thread.
Can Cause an alignment shift to a single board of a world.

Here on HEARTS ALIGNED, we trust and respect our members enough to play fair and free. Thus, we give you the option to forgo numbers and stats - in order to roleplay freely without any extra stress.
This backup system is "permission first" - which is required for anything drastic for your character - such as a character dying. Forced control. Or other more "extreme" situations.
However, remember! That this site is PG-13 and thus any R Rated content should be taken off-forum, either to Discord Server or elsewhere. Please! Respect members who use this system! Even though it's a more freeform style - it still requires cooperation and consent!

Sometimes a Member might Feel a bit "risky" Gameplay, wishing their character had a high chance of Dying. And Don't care to like.. Come back over and over OR LIKE Starting a new character. They Can change A setting under Profile > Personal >
A white border on their Miniprofile Appears proportionally White. SO When you Do this YOU are NOW a Target to die by attacks For good. you are Allowed to disable this at any time, just please be mindful not to change your mind through a post or complain if some character does try to kill yours.
