The darkness enveloped her in her dream that night. Soon she was waking up on a beach. Sunlight above, water on her toes….wait. Where were her toes? As she reached down to test the blue blobs where her toes should have been, she saw even more blue blob. When she looked towards her shadow, she did not see an Ami shaped Silhouette, but one of an amorphous creature. Instantly she shifted down into a boneless puddle.
This was just great. First, she was brought to the academy before the rest of her friends and had to hide it from them until they were chosen, and now she lost her body. As she just rippled there as a puddle in the sand as the waves washed over her, she started to think. If she was in a new body, maybe the body had some memories? Her mind was the only thing that seemed to transfer considering, literally, her brain would be about the size of her current form.
The thoughts came to her. She was a Ditto. Wait? Was this a spell that she had? Transform. Well that’s something she didn’t expect. And it seemed she needed to lock eyes with another creature to transform. Odd but, lets give it a go. She blobbed her way over to the first one she saw trying to awaken and looked them in the eyes to activate transform. They would then be greeted by a Blue version of themselves.
Ami’s thoughts were disrupted by a call from her side. None of her friends were old enough to really come to this establishment. Maybe Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna, but other than that, they were all in high school or younger. When she turned her head towards the sound, she saw Bambaulina who was calling her over. As the two approached each other, she noticed the tail swishing. She was a bit shocked at this. She thought it was just a prop. But she recollected herself and smiled
“Good evening Bambaulina. Here for dinner?” She honestly did not expect to meet other members from the Union Academy in Tokyo. So she was honestly at a lost. Especially what would happen if one of her friends spotted her. Or someone from school. But then again, she wouldn’t be here if her mother wasn’t here for a conference and she needed to pick up the house key. So there should be no way she was spotted by Gurio-san.
Ami was a bit surprised when he asked what “That” was motioning to her small meal time prayer and then an accusation of being from Tokyo. She only returned a smile back as she used the fork to place the small piece of pizza she cut off into her mouth. After finishing the bite she looked to him. “Yes I am.” She saw the way he was eating his slice and her smile actually became a bit brighter. “I think you would like Usagi. You do so many of the things she does back home.
In the past, yes this would have upset her. She was rich back home and her mother definitely schooled her on ettiqutte and manners, but after years with Usagi, Mamoru, Makoto, and Minako, she learned to accept others for who they were, just as they accepted her. Yeah Usagi gave her a look the first time they went out to pizza for using a knife and fork, but it soon became an inside joke with everyone that she actually enjoyed from time to time.
*Ding* The bell of the elevator arriving at the ground floor signaled the opening of the doors. Emerging from the lift was two women with blue hair. One was a full head and a half taller than the other. The taller woman was in a elegant evening dress with a stethoscope around her neck. Her short blue hair was combed to the left and clung tightly to her head. The shorter girl was in a school uniform of a white long sleeved blouse with a blue sailor collar with red stripes around the neck. A big blue bow on the front. A pleated blue skirt hung past her knees from under the shirt as she held a book in her hands. “Do not worry mother. I will be fine on my own for a week. Just studying and going to school. I think you know who all will be over to visit.” This shorter woman was the very same Ami Mizuno from the Union Academy.
The taller woman was her mother who just gave a sigh. “I know. It does worry some of my colleagues that I do not have to worry more about you. Have you thought about a boyfriend yet?”
Ami’s face immediately turned completely beat red for a moment, before she waved it off. “If I want to be a Doctor like you someday I can’t spend my time like that. I have to study and work my way to school.” Dr. Mizuno just gave Ami a pat on her head before the two parted ways, Ami heading towards the entrance of the hotel, walking right past the eyesight of Bambaulina.
Yep, the two knew each other. Seemed that the two even had a contract with each other. Mason apparently sold wares for the…idol? “Tailgate” was at least a music performer in some aspect. She then introduced herself as Bambulina. Taking the moment to reserve memory for it she just smiled as she introduced herself and Then step into the friend category to force Mason to create a new nickname. After the whole pizza thing, Mason didn’t seem like the type to do that. The smell did reach her from Bambaulina, but not knowing the full story behind it, Ami would not react.
Seeing Mason squirm a little was a bit of a shock at first, but she had seen that type of squirming before now that she saw it a second time. It was the same type of squirming that Makoto did when a cute guy talked to her. Did Mason have a crush on her? Quite interesting. Something she would, of course, store for later. But the thought process was interrupted by Mason being Mason. Trying to get her on stage to attract her friends. “To be honest, none of them would believe it was me anyways. Minako, yes. Michiru, that’s her actual job. I am just an eternal student.”
Then the instructor showed up. He seemed like one of those types of instructors Usagi always read about in her Manga. But after his bit of introduction, he focused on her and commented about her eyes. “First dojo. You could say that. I have fought before and died a few times.” Her hands came out from behind her back holding her wand in front of her. “I am hoping to actually improve on my abilities so I can be more effective against a new enemy.” The pink wand with blue crystal above large white wings glistened in the sun light, as she kind of shrunk down a bit at the looks she imagined The other two giving her.
After just ten minutes, the pizza had arrived. Ami paid for it once it got here and walked inside to the bar style countertop, setting it down. “The pizza just arrived.” She would call out to Mason, where ever he was working at this point. While she awaited his return, Ami fished out two plates, two forks, and two knives, setting the placements just like they were having a family dinner. She even set out cups for the two liter of soda.
Opening the top of the box, she smiled as she caught the sent of the anchovies and sausage mixed together. None of the girls back home liked these toppings. Makoto was the only one who even tried anchovies. Taking one slice, she set it on her plate and pulled up the bar stool. “Itadakimasu.” She would say with clapped hands before picking up the fork and knife, and cutting into the end of the pizza slice.
Just as Mason noticed her, another entered the area. It would seem Mason wasn’t one for actual names and instead decided to give her the nickname of Friendless. Which was like a sharp stab in her heart. But not one she hadn’t felt before. Before she met Usagi and the others, she was friendless. Her grades the only thing important to her. Her free time was more school. So while he stabbed at her heart, she just gave her printed smile and kept her hands behind her back.
It was then she heard him start stammering about ‘Tailgate’ undoubtedly not her actual name. His composure was a bit lost, so there had to be something between the two. “Yes, this is the combat class. We are still waiting for the instructor though. I’m Mizuno Ami. Pleased to meet you.”
Combat training. Something she wished Luna and Artemis had devised back home. Ami had a fair amount of battle experience already, having died four times before even. But these new enemies were something different, yet similar. She needed to learn how to fight them, and luckily, or unfortunatly enough, the battle has raged on long enough to have an academy devoted to it.
As she walked out into the courtyard, she stopped as a horse just casually strolled past her and disappeared behind a column. How peculiar. But she was told to be prepared with anything she needed to actually fight. They knew about her life as a magical girl. So all she had with her was her Transformation Wand and Sailor Crystal. She did not know when she was going to be asked to transform, so she just dressed in a white t-shirt, blue shorts, white socks and sneakers. Just as if she had gym class back home.
Once in the courtyard, she saw Mason sitting under the tree, playing with grass. She quickly moved the wand back behind her back. She knew he was at thsi school, but not that they would be in the same class.
Fortunatly, Ami wasn't too far away when Mason found her. She heard his topping choices and just wrote them down. "Both sound good." She made the call and held the brick up to her head, looking over the toppings as she waited. She was a bit confused at the grabby hands motion, but just went along with it. Maybe it was a new American fad. "Hi yes, I would like to order a Large Pizza please. On one side, Salami, anchovies, and light Banana Peppers, and on the other side Spinach and Sausage. And can I get a side of pickles as well....Dill Please." She went about finishing up the order, giving her address and hearing the total. After setting down her phone, she walked back into the kitchen and smiled. "They said about 15 minutes since they aren't too busy."
After she saw him finishing up the lat of the dishes she slipped back into her slippers. "I'll go get the next few boxes. I really appreciate your help Mason." She gave him the absolute sweetest, nearly Disney Princess, smile just before stepping out the door. She had the VHS tapes that could go in the living room. She also had quite a few boxes of linen that needed to go into their respective rooms. By herself, yes it would have taken a month, but that was mainly because she would take forever making sure everything was in an orderly place and would tire herself out before too long. But with a bit of 'muscle', she might be able to finish it this week.
Ami didn't notice at first that Mason had followed her inside, But when she turned to go get the next box, he was suddenly there next to the box she just brought in. Most people with a decent understanding of English, a normal temperament, and probably enough time around such a chaotic being would tell him exactly where to put everything. But this was Ami. She seemed to already realize getting rid of Mason was going to be impossible, especially after he tried to shake her hand while it was loaded with breakable plates. So why not accept the help? "That would be helpful. I can order us some pizza then. That's all dishes. Please set them in the cupboard under the bar counter near the corner."
The bar was parallel to the wall of the door. The counter went basically from the fridge next to the door, along the wall, up the adjacent wall, and out to make a bar forming a L shape at the end creating a nearly complete circle kitchen. Inside the boxes were twelve sets of plate (serving, accesory, and saucers) mugs, glasses, silverware, an a single set of cooking utensils. The knife block had cherry wood handles and was set in cherry wood. With her previous offer, she walked over to the opposing wall under the stairs and picked up one of those old 90's era brick cell phones that was about as large as a human's head with a antenna to reach orbit. "Is there any toppings you perfer?"
Ami wasn't exactly the strongest, even in her small circle of friends. She was fit enough to do basic running and lifting for physical education classes, but she was not going to be compteting in the Olympics. So she needed both hands to keep hold of the box. He seemed to be attempting to drive on her nerves with the constant mention of her friends not being there to help her. Shrugging it off she walked towards the door. She offered a smile in substitution of the hand shake though. "Usagi and the others are most likely still in Azabu-Juban."
He might have a point about her being too nice. Stepping in, she turned to the left, still easily in sight of Mason as she sat the box down on the counter. "The ten of us all have our own duties, responsabilities, and strengths to help everyone out. I may not be the most powerful, but organization is one of my strong suits, so if I can get everything in order before they arrive, the better all of us will be. Makoto will probably handle the cooking. Haruka is an excellent driver. Michiru has excellent financial wits. Minako could always lift our spirits. Rei has always been the spirit of our team." Part of her had a small laugh she held back. She wasn't normally one for wordplay, but when it comes naturally... Rini, Setsuna, and Hotaru has their own things as well, but that wasn't really information for the public.
The boy seemed to smile back to her. His outfit was definitely more American than her own. The Jacket really told it though. Adjusting the box in her hand, she had to stop when he waved to her and asked her about being the new girl. That must mean he is an Academy student as well. Did he live around here as well? He then made mention of all the work ahead of her. She could only give a sigh on that. "Well maybe a bit longer. Furniture for ten and one person to move it all in. I think I should be done with the container by the end of the month."
With her planning, she already had the heavy furniture inside and in place. It was mainly a lot of manageable stuff and a lot more light stuff. "The 'help' will be arriving. I just do not know exactly when." She was absolutely certain everyone else was on their way here. If she had been blessed with this power, there was no doubt that the stronger fighters of her friends would be brought in with them as well. "I'm Mizuno Ami. I haven't gotten to class yet, but I shall be there first thing tomorrow."
The Sailor Heart Home is an old ranch style home nestled near the furthest part of the Breezy Quarter. It has a covered front porch, a screened in back porch, and a deck which sits half way up the back wall of the basement. The top half of the basement is visible just over the hill the path runs across.
First Floor
The first floor is the primary living and gathering portal for the home. Upon entry, there is a small step onto the raised floor. Everyone removes their footwear here and slippers are set out for guest to wear. This was done t give the girls residing here a sense of home and also make it easier to keep thier floors clean. The kitchen has a bar like counter surrounding the sink. There is a sizeable dining table in the great room for everyone to eat together at. A stone fireplace sits off in the north east corner. Across from the kitchen are two sets of stairs, one leading up to a bridge and the other leading down to the basement. The west side of the great room leads to the Master Suite, which has a placard with the Moon and Mini Moon Symbols on it, with attached Master bath, and the laundry room. The East side of the gate room leads to two rooms with a shared bath between them, that also serves as the main bathroom for the living area. The North room has the Mars and Venus Symbols on a placard. The south room has Saturn and Pluto symbols on that door's placard.
The entire floor id one in a dark bamboo planking which gives a bit of give with each step, but does not creek. The furniture is all silver coloration with dark wood features. French doors in the back lead to the covered porch and the lower deck.
Second Floor
The second floor is pretty much just a couple of bedrooms and a bridge. The flooring is exactly the same as the first floor. The west bedroom has the symbols for Mercury and Jupiter on it. This is also where the residents congregate to study with snacks. The East room has the Uranus and Neptune symbols on it's placard and is where the Upper bath sits.
Basement
Here lies all the secrets. Accessible by stairs in the foyer across from the kitchen.
